Curtis Jones at Accent

Curtis Jones is a very influential guitarist in the world of bluegrass and new acoustic music and has toured and or recorded with some of the biggest names and best artists in the genre, including members of Alison Krauss’ Union Station band and Blue Highway. Curtis spent seven years on the road as a member of the Schankman Twins band, now Malibu Storm, and certainly did his part to bring that group to the forefront of bluegrass music. He was also a full time member of the superpicking group Bluegrass ETC, and his time with this group started his success in Europe. Since that time, he has toured all over the globe. He recently toured with country and bluegrass music star Patti Loveless.

It is impossible to put a label on Curtis’ music, which stems from the fact that he is such a versatile musician with elements of flamenco, gypsy, bluegrass, jazz, classical and so much more in his music. He is a prolific composer and songwriter, having written around 800 pieces of music to date, He has released seven CDs of all-original music. Curtis also composed and performed most of the music heard on the Roland Martin and Orlando Wilson fishing shows on TNN. In the winter of 1994, he went on the road for a four-month tour with famed Atlanta actor/writer Tom Key and a cast of four musicians to perform “Cotton Patch Gospel”, and he served as musical director for Woody Guthrie's “American Song” at the prestigious Alliance Theater in Atlanta in 2002.
